The first episode is premiring at the Edinburgh International Television Festival between August 23 and 25. We don’t have a date for the TV airing, but last year it aired the day after it was shown at the festival in Edinburgh. [x] Officially I can’t find anything more specific than ‘fall 2012’ for the first half of the season.
Anyone know anything different or more detailed?
Alright, so I’ve had two people ask about the towel I used for the Tenth Doctor’s swim outfit. I have three reasons for this, two simple, and one not so much (who knew beach towels could have complicated explanations?)
1. The Tenth Doctor loves Harry Potter, and that was the only towel I could find that wasn’t $50. I try to make reasonably priced outfits, and think $50 for a beach towel is ridiculous.
2. It’s a tongue in cheek nod at DT’s role as Barty Crouch in the movie. These are swim outfits, not cosplay, and I may feel the need to make jokes when making them (like the book in Ianto’s)
3. Last fall I did some ‘Doctor Who characters sorted in Hogwarts houses’ outfits. And it’s my opinion that the Doctor, no matter the regeneration, would be sorted into Slytherin. I wrote a whole post about why here, but basically a Slytherin is cunning, clever, resourceful, determined and has a “certain disregard for the rules.” And Slytherins are not all bad (Merlin was Slytherin). Also, The Doctor was in Prydonian, which is basically the equivalent of Slytherin on Gallifrey.
Someone asked me what blogs I like. That’s sort of a hard question, because I pay more attention to individual posts rather than which tumblr they’re from. I also have about a dozen tracked tags that are by first go to when I’m looking at tumblr.
Off the top of my head, areyoumarriedriver and converseandbowties are the only names I can think of for Who fandom. And the main doctorwho tumblr (ajennifer, justjasper, and justanothercriminalmindsfanatic are a couple of Criminal Minds people I follow.) Disneydesigns was the first polyvore tumbrl I followed and how I started doing this blog.
In general I go through my dashboards for this blog and my personal one. I have a serious Once Upon a Time obsession right now so I look up a lot of Robert Carlyle and Rum/Belle stuff. In general I look at a lot of Who, Criminal Minds, Downton Abbey, AJ Cook, etc (I have a million fandoms)
Outside of tumbrl I use pinterest to go through a lot of random blogs, especially food and craft ones. I work two days a week in a cooking/kitchen store.
TMI Tuesday - Anyone else have questions?
I have a Sontaran outfit here. I did a Cyberman, but that was so long ago I might do it again. Chip is actually someone I’ve been toying with doing. So is the time vortex, since I found those barrettes last week for the TARDIS outfit.
I’ve been asked a few questions in the past few days:
Who is my favorite Doctor Who character?
Very hard to answer. In the vaguest sense of the word ‘character’ I would have to say ‘The Doctor’ but that feels a little like a cop out. My favorite Doctor is Seven. I have an odd tendency to like the odd numbered Doctors the best (Eleven has creeped up to be number 2, I think. I adore Five and Three and Nine, but I honestly love them all.)
If I have to pick a single character, not counting The Doctor, I think I’d have to go with Ace.
Am I planning on doing wedding outfits?
Yes, totally. I just want to work through some of my requests first before starting another ‘theme.’ I also want to do spring outfits and possibly swimsuits.
How often do I check this blog?
Depends on the day. Monday to Thursday I work in an office and have free time, lunch time, or times when I’m on the phone and can check/post on here. Friday and Saturday I work in a shop with no time to be on the computer at all. Generally I try to post before I go in to the store, but then with errands and things it might be evening before I’m on again. I also have another tumblr and my personal tumblr to check, facebook, plurk, and my RP journals. This is my favorite thing on tumblr, though. You guys are awesome and there’s more back and forth between us. I don’t really know anyone on my CM tumblr.
Can I do the Face of Boe and the cat nuns?
Of course! I love things like the sonic screwdriver, Cassandra, et al that make me stretch and figure out how to do it.
Some housekeeping things:
1 - If you’ve made a request and it’s been a while, feel free to tap me. It might be that it’s a more difficult thing to make (a piece hard to find, etc), it might be that I’m having trouble with it for some reason, or I might have plain forgotten.
2 - I’m thinking about doing a shout out day. Any thoughts? Anyone interested in seeing other tumblrs pimped out or having your own pimped out?
3 - To be completely honest I’m having a little bit of trouble making Benny outfits. I have about four requests right now. She’s an audio companion, which means few visual clues, and my only reference is the couple of BFAs I’ve listened to. And I know I’d probably like her if I listened to more audios, but I just can’t make myself because it feels like she tries to get between Seven and Ace in the little I’ve been exposed to and the only relationship I care more about than Seven and Ace is Doctor/TARDIS. I really do love all the Doctors and most of the companions, but I have a really hard time with Benny.
TL:DR summary - If there’s an outfit that’s more important than the others for Benny let me know. It will be a while before I manage all of the ones on the list.

Rosebillietyler: Is there a particular Ten or Rose outfit you’d like? I’ve done Ten in brown and pajamas, and Ten 2 in blue (plus punk, casual, prom, little black dress and bitty) and I’ve done Rose from six or seven episodes (plus prom, bitty, and punk) I’ll add Donna to the list. not sure i can make any promises on psychic paper, though; at the moment I’m at a loss as to how to show that as an outfit.
Why does the master have a tellie tubbie

Just for fun, and a love of Doctor Who. I follow a couple of polyvore design tumblrs, but it all started with one called Disney Designs. I loved the idea, and thought it would be fun to try. I didn’t want to do Disney, though. Then I thought “what about Doctor Who?” There’s almost 50 years of Doctors, companions, aliens, etc. A wealth of things to choose from. And I really love every corner of this show, all the companions and spin offs and Doctors and everything.
I’m also terrible at sitting still and doing nothing, so when I’m watching TV or answering phones this is a good something to do.
My degree is in Psychology with a minor in English lit.
